Spiritual Anger

Hello world!

It’s been a minute. I have been going through a lot of growth these last couple of years. Growth in good areas and in bad. I have seen a lot of hardships and trouble happen in my family, friends, neighbors, and, of course, strangers. America is suffering from inflation. The world is suffering from COVID. There is a war going on in multiple areas around the world. And a lot of sin and distrust among human beings.

I read my bible this morning, in John 10:22-30, the Jews were observing Jesus. They finally had enough and requested that Jesus reveal himself and who he is. Jesus replied,

“I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

It’s funny, I got angry, or I felt anger in my heart when I read this. When Jesus spoke this to the Jews, you will see where their hearts were too. They were angry, but for a different reason. I want to argue where my heart went after I heard what he said here.

And that is spiritual anger.

What is spiritual anger? I believe spiritual anger is when the Holy Spirit “fire” in you wells up because of something you saw, experienced, heard, or witnessed. It causes an “emotional overdrive” that takes over your physical emotions and can lead to action. In the bible, they talk about the difference of worldly vs spiritual anger. One example that comes to mind is the anger Jesus showed. Was Jesus ever angry? See for yourself.

Matthew 21:12-13

Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”

Matthew 21: 18-22

Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered. When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.

Matthew 21:23-27

Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you this authority?” Jesus replied, “I will also ask you one question. If you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. John’s baptism—where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or of human origin?” They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’ But if we say, ‘Of human origin’—we are afraid of the people, for they all hold that John was a prophet.” So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Then he said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.

Sorry, I meant to only give one, yet I gave 3 examples. And guess what, these are all from 1 chapter in 1 book. Jesus got angry, and if you don’t believe him, go ask him yourself. But his anger did not lead him to sin, it led him to teach and give life to those around him, and much later to us.

If anyone tells you that anger is bad, it is, but there is a difference between God’s anger and the World’s anger. God’s anger leads to righteousness, the World’s anger leads to death and destruction. (sometimes God’s anger leads to death and destruction too, but it’s different lol). Just go on google and google example of God’s anger. Proverbs 6 shows a good list of things that God hates. Things that we do on an everyday basis.

In conclusion, there is a difference between spiritual (Godly) anger and worldly anger. I felt my spirit enraged because of what I read. I know who Jesus is, I have an idea of what Jesus is. He a divine human being, the only divine human being. The one closest to God, the way, the truth, the life. The gate to heaven. The narrowest path. A lot of people do not know who Jesus is. Some of these people God allowed me to encounter. I will spend the next several weeks going into different belief systems, understanding what they believe and showing you that their view of Jesus is wrong and invalid. Why??? Because I am angry.

With love,
